The Monkey's Disgrace

• Three monkeys sat in a cocoanut tree
• Discussing things as they're said to be.
• Said to one to the other, "Now listen, you two;
• There's a certain rumor that cannot be true.
• That man decended from our noble race -
• The very idea is a total disgrace.
• No monkey ever deserted his wife'
• Abused their babies or ruined her life;
• And you've never known a mother monk
• To leave her babies with others to bunk.
• And another thing you'll never see:
• A monkey build a fence 'round a cocoanut tree
• And let the cocoanuts go to waste,
• Forbidding all other monks a taste.
• Why, if I put a fence around a tree,
• Starvation will force you to steal from me.
• Here's another thing a monkey won't do:
• Go party at night and get stewed.
• Or use a club, a gun or knife
• to take some other monkey's life.
• Yes, man decended, the onery cuss,
• monkeys agree - NOT FROM US.


        Food for thought, eh???
